The discusthrower is a full scale statue made by Myron van Eleutherae. It dates back to 450 before Christ and therefore was made during the Greek Classic Period. This from origin bronze statue was only remained through a Roman copy made from marble. Due to the two crossing bows formed by the arms and the rest of the body, the statue reflects tension and motion.
