Die
Brücke
In
1905 a group of artists was brought together by Ernst Kirchner.
They rejected the academic traditions. The style of The
Fauves, The Fauvism,
had a strong influence on the members
of Die Brücke. The artists of Die Brücke were inspired by the vivid elementary
colors, the solid contours and the simplified forms.
The content
of the work is more important for them than the composition or other artistic
principals. Except from theme's like fear and loneliness, these artists
got inspired by primitive cultures.
